Use cases

What teams run on bare metal.

When predictable performance, hardware isolation and licensing flexibility matter more than horizontal scaling — dedicated wins.

💾

Heavy databases

Oracle, MSSQL Enterprise, PostgreSQL clusters with TB-scale datasets and strict tail-latency budgets.

🧩

Virtualization hosts

Run Proxmox, VMware ESXi, Hyper-V or KVM to consolidate dozens of internal VMs on one machine you own outright.

🛒

High-traffic stores

Magento, Shopware, headless Shopify with full Black Friday capacity — without sharing CPU cycles.

🏥

Regulated industries

Healthcare, legal, finance — hardware-level isolation is the strongest answer to "what happens if a hypervisor exploit drops?"

🎮

Multiplayer game servers

Tick-rate-sensitive games — Minecraft modpacks at 200+ players, FiveM, ARK clusters — benefit from dedicated CPU pinning.

📊

Analytics & ML training

Long-running Spark, ClickHouse and PyTorch jobs where you'd otherwise hit hypervisor scheduling jitter.

📡

Self-hosted SaaS

Build your own multi-tenant SaaS on hardware you control — no surprise pricing or vendor lock-in.

🛡️

Security & honeypots

Pen-testing labs, malware sandboxes, honeypots — work that you can't run on a shared hypervisor.

📦

Kubernetes node pool

Run a self-managed k3s or k0s cluster on dedicated nodes where you fully control kernel parameters and CNI choices.

The basics

What is a dedicated server?

A dedicated server is a physical machine allocated exclusively to you — no other tenant runs anything on it. Unlike shared hosting or even VPS/VDS environments, where many customers share a single piece of hardware via virtualization, a dedicated server gives you the entire box: CPU, RAM, storage, network card and BIOS-level access.

This is the strongest possible tenancy model. There is no hypervisor neighbor scheduling against you, no shared cache pollution, no theoretical risk from hypervisor exploits, and no software-defined CPU quota throttling your workload. Every clock cycle of every core, every byte of RAM and every IOPS of the storage subsystem is yours to use.

Hostiger dedicated servers ship pre-racked in our Istanbul data center with Intel Xeon E5, Gold or Platinum CPUs (single, dual or quad-socket builds), DDR4 ECC RAM, RAID-ready SAS SSD storage, and a 1 Gbps uplink. You pick the OS — Linux distribution of your choice, Windows Server, or even custom ISOs via the panel. RAID level is selectable at order time, with all common configurations (0, 1, 5, 6, 10) supported.

Why Hostiger dedicated

Five reasons over VPS or cloud.

01

Hardware-level isolation

The strongest tenancy story possible. No hypervisor neighbors, no shared cache, no oversubscribed cores. Critical for regulated industries and high-performance databases.

02

Maximum sustained performance

No virtualization overhead means no scheduling jitter. Long-running compiles, simulations, batch jobs and ML training finish faster and more consistently than on any virtual environment.

03

RAID at order time

Choose RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 or 10 when you place your order. Hardware RAID controllers, on-card battery-backed write cache, hot-swap drives — the full enterprise storage story.

FAQ

Dedicated server questions, answered.

What is a dedicated server?

A dedicated server is a physical server allocated exclusively to you. Unlike shared hosting where multiple websites share the same resources, with a dedicated server all hardware resources — CPU, RAM, storage, network — are reserved solely for you. This gives you higher performance, security and customization than any virtualized option.

Why should I use a dedicated server?
  • Full control: Full authority over your server — install anything, configure anything.
  • High performance: No resource sharing means it runs faster, all the time.
  • Security: Physical isolation — no shared hypervisor surface, no neighbor data.
  • Flexibility: Scale CPU, RAM and disk to match your workload.
  • Customization: The whole server is yours — customize as you wish.
Can I configure RAID?

Yes. Select your RAID level (0, 1, 5, 6, 10 or JBOD) when you order. Hardware RAID controllers with battery-backed write cache come standard on every plan. Increases the security and performance of your data.

What is the network speed?

The default port speed is 1 Gbps — sufficient for high-speed data transfer in the vast majority of workloads. 10 Gbps uplinks are available on custom builds.

When will my server be activated?

Server orders are generally activated within the same business day. In some cases — for example, custom configurations, RAID rebuilds or special OS installations — the process may take a few hours longer.

Can I use it for email marketing?

No. Dedicated servers may not be used for bulk email marketing. Please use specialized services designed specifically for compliant email campaigns. Transactional email (account confirmations, password resets) is allowed under reasonable limits.

Can I install virtualization software?

Yes. Install VMware ESXi, Proxmox, Hyper-V, KVM, Xen or any other hypervisor. Use your server as a private VM farm, multi-tenant SaaS substrate or for development sandboxes. The hardware is yours to slice as you please.

Do you provide IPMI / out-of-band access?

Yes. IPMI access is available on request and used by our support team for hardware-level operations. Customer-facing IPMI access can be enabled on most plans — contact support for details.

What's the backup policy?

Backups are not included by default. Optional managed backup add-on is available with off-site retention. We strongly recommend running application-level backups in addition to any storage-level RAID.

What's the refund policy?

Because dedicated servers are physically allocated per customer, services are non-refundable once provisioned. Pre-sales engineers will gladly help you size and validate the right hardware before ordering.
